From elephants to polar bears, WWF fights to secure a future for animals on the planet we all share. WWF helped bring back the Amur tiger and Africa’s black rhinos from the edge of extinction. We are giving isolated, dwindling populations of black footed ferrets and river dolphins a second chance. WWF continues to keep habitats and landscapes thriving. We envision, create, test and deliver solutions for a crowded planet. We work with partners at all levels, from community leaders to governments and multinational bodies. But our work is far from done, and WWF constantly strives to protect the species we all care about.

The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. Our story began in the early 1900’s when we successfully helped the American bison recover on the Western Plains. Today, we protect many of the world’s iconic creatures here and abroad, including gorillas in the Congo, tigers in India, wolverines in the Yellowstone Rockies, and ocean giants in our world’s amazing seascapes.

Africa is home to certain species that are facing extinction, including mountain gorillas and Grevy’s zebras. By putting safeguards in place like training rangers, using sniffer dogs, and empowering communities, we’re helping to ensure all of Africa’s wildlife survives. Critical to protecting Africa’s wildlife are the local people. Sharing the land, often alongside each other, can lead to struggles for resources and deforestation. If people and wildlife learn to live together inside and outside of protected areas the future for all will thrive.

The Canadian Wildlife Federation is dedicated to ensuring an appreciation of our natural world and a lasting legacy of healthy wildlife and habitat by,informing and educating Canadians, advocating responsible human actions, and representing wildlife on conservation issues. We inspire Canadians to take action and help wildlife by facilitating financial and in-kind shows of support. Some of our supporters choose to help by donating, subscribing to our publications or even shopping in the name of our wild creatures in need. Others choose to assist by helping us spread the word through engaging pictures, stories of wildlife encounters or by participating in our many education and awareness programs. Wildlife thanks you for all these different forms of support.

The Gorilla Doctors began as the realization of a dream of American gorilla researcher Dian Fossey. Fossey dedicated her life to studying and protecting mountain gorillas in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, and by the mid-1980s, her research indicated that the mountain gorilla population was rapidly declining, with fewer than 300 known mountain gorillas remaining in the world. Gorillas were being killed outright by poachers, suffering from life-threatening injuries caused by snares, and succumbing to illnesses Fossey suspected were being transmitted by humans. At that time, there was no health program in place to treat sick and injured gorillas.

The National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition (NESARC) is a broad based coalition of organizations, representing millions of individuals across the United States dedicated to improving and updating the Endangered Species Act(ESA). For 40 years, the Endangered Species Act has been one of our nation’s strongest environmental laws. While the original intent of the ESA was to conserve and protect American species of plant and wildlife that are threatened with extinction, the law has been increasingly used to block projects and to deter the legal use of privately owned land. NESARC and its members are committed to promoting effective and balanced legislative and administrative improvements to the ESA that support the protection of fish, wildlife and plant populations as well as responsible land, water and resource management.
